What to expect from our in-studio group classes Our studio’s primary focus is personalized training, where we work with our clients to build a specialized and progressive movement program that is specifically tailored to help them achieve their goals and meet their bodies’ individual needs. Even though a group class includes other people and it can’t be 100% only about you (that’s what 1:1s are for), we still prioritize you and your body’s needs beyond what would be possible in larger, more generic classes, and our focus is to truly help you learn and progress. Our class sizes are small (only 4-8 people), and we primarily offer preregistered/committed 2-month sessions of classes, not casual drop ins. Since we're able to really develop meaningful relationships with our clients over a multi-week session and get to know everyone’s unique needs and strengths, we are better able to help you have an optimal movement experience and help you progress toward your goals, whatever they might be. Our classes are held in our boutique studio in the Marwell Industrial Area. We only offer preregistered classes (full commitment to and prepayment for all class dates within the session), with some availability for current clients to drop in if we have extra room or if there are cancellations. When you preregister for your class, you are paying in advance for and committing to all offerings in that class. If you know you will be away for certain dates, you can let us know and we will offer the spot for someone to fill in, and you can drop in to an alternative class as a make-up (if there is a space open). If someone fills in for you, we will refund you for that particular class at the end of the semester. If your teacher needs to miss a class that you’ve already pre-paid for, you will have the option to either be credited or to receive a refund.
What to expect in our online group classes
Finding a good fit Not all of these classes will be good fits for beginners or gentle movers. If you're wondering if a class will be a good fit for you, please feel welcome to send us a message! Newcomer-friendly group classes: Level 1 (foundational, gentle, slower pacing): - Reset + Restore Matwork - Pilates Roots - Pilates Matwork for Seniors Level 1-2 (strong newcomers who already have some Pilate experience or who are strong movers): - Flourish Pilates Matwork - Studio Method group classes Pilates Matwork for Seniors on Friday mornings is a good fit for folks with osteoporosis or other bone or spinal conditions, whereas other group classes would not be a good fit for osteoporosis. None of our group classes are a good fit for a pregnant or recently postpartum body, but Nadea does specialize in pre- and postnatal fitness and would be happy to welcome new moms and moms-to-be for 1:1 sessions. Level 2 classes are open to reasonably experienced Pilates practitioners who have a reliable and confident grasp of Pilates foundational skills.
Booking more than one weekly class While you're welcome to book as many classes as you like, please note that classes with the same name taught by the same teacher will have near-identical programming during the week, so while you can join multiple classes of the same variety if you want to, you would be basically doing the same class twice (with some variation depending on the individual needs of the attendees).
"Do you offer drop ins?" "What if I'm going to miss one of the class dates?" We only offer preregistered classes (full commitment to and prepayment for all class dates within the session), with some availability for current clients to drop in if we have extra room or if there are cancellations. When you preregister for your class, you are paying in advance for and committing to all offerings in that class. If you know you will be away for certain dates, you can let us know and we will offer the spot for someone to fill in, and you can drop in to an alternative class as a make-up (if there is a space open). This class is athletic and acrobatic and it requires significant endurance as well as comfort with inversions such as the jack knife, high scissors and bicycle, and control balance.
