Registration guide, tips, and FAQ for studio newcomers
Welcome! We're looking forward to welcoming new faces to the studio for our upcoming semester of classes!
We run our group classes by the semester (2-month period), and we offer three types of group classes:
-
Group mat classes
-
Semi-private group reformer classes
-
Semi-private group studio method classes (these classes incorporate the full Pilates method using matwork, reformers, barrels, springs, and other Pilates equipment)
As a studio newcomer, the categories on the booking calendar that you'll want to check out are "Newcomers, Gentle Movers, and Foundational Focus (Levels 0 and 1)" and/or "Strong Newcomers and Students with Pilates Experience (Level 1/2)".

You can view the calendar graphic and class descriptions on this page.
You can book your spot on the studio booking calendar. The calendar will show the dates and cost of the class. The booking process will include filling out your health forms, reviewing and consenting to our studio policies, and payment. On the booking confirmation page, please remember to choose the option to create an account, otherwise you will need to fill out the health form again in the future if you choose to re-book for another class.
Coming to Class
Parking is available in the designated parking spaces in front of the studio and along the road. Please take care to NOT park in the two right-most spaces in front of the building, as these signed spots are reserved for the tenants who live in the building. We have a dedicated handicapped parking space.
Please arrive about 5 minutes before your class is ready to start. Because our studio is busy with back-to-back personal training and group class appointments, avoiding showing up too early (15 minutes or more) to your class helps us keep things running smoothly. Your teacher will need time between appointments to clean up the space, set up equipment for your class, and tend to themselves. If you find yourself arriving earlier than you expected, please enjoy some relaxation time in your car or you're also welcome to use the bench in front of the studio to enjoy the fresh air.
We have included a "Frequently Asked Questions" section below.

"I don't want to commit to all the classes, just a couple... My availability might change."
Our Pilates classes are designed for students to progress week by week so that you can notice meaningful growth and improvement in your movement goals by the end of the 2-month semester. Your teacher will review your health form, work with you and your fellow classmates in person, and tailor the class programming to the specific needs of the people who have enrolled.
We have found that casual attendance is not productive or enjoyable for the client, their classmates, or the teachers, and we want your Pilates classes with us to be worth your investment.
Once your practice becomes more established and your teacher develops a solid understanding of your body and your needs, you may be able to drop into other group classes.
"What if I am going to miss some of the classes during the registered semester?"
Our classes aren't designed for casual attendance and missing classes puts you behind your classmates, so if you know you'll need to miss three or more classes (especially consecutively), then preregistration is not a good fit for you and it would be better to wait to enroll when you are able to attend fully.
If you are only missing a class or two spaced throughout the semester, or if something unexpected comes up and you can't make your class, you can give our admin team notice and we can make your space available for another current client to fill in for you on that day. If someone fills in for you, we will issue a refund for that class at the end of the semester.
"How does payment work? When will I be charged for my class?"
Preregistered classes should be paid in full no later than 1 week before the start of the semester.
We require a valid credit card number to be on file for you at the time of booking. If you would prefer to pay via e-transfer instead of us charging the card associated with your file, you can let us know and we can send an invoice your way. If we are unable to process payment for your class as late as a week before the class start date, your space will be forfeited.
Quickfire Round:
Frequently Asked Questions from New Registrants
-
"Can I share my spot with someone else?" No.
-
"Do I need to bring my own mat?" Only if you want to. We have props and supplies at the studio for you to use though.
-
"What should I wear?" Whatever makes you comfortable. You do not need shoes. We don't require grip socks or special clothing. Please avoid wearing pants that have buttons and zippers, jewellery that has rough edges, and heavy lotions, makeup, or tanning lotions, as they can damage our mats and reformers.
-
"Do you have a change room?" We have a spacious single-person bathroom that has a mirror, stool, and other amenities. We do not have showers.
Do you have a question about our studio or about Pilates that wasn't answered here? You're always welcome to send us an email, but there's also a chance that it might be answered on our website's general FAQ page, so please check that out first.
